Now, more than ever in Hollywood the
trend is being a hot celebrity mom. Its no wonder that maternity
hair has taken such a front row spotlight to all expectant women.

A few great trends I see the stars sporting are loose, natural
carefree curls, longer wavy hair with a touch of natural looking
To achieve the look that celebrity
moms such as Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba and Minnie Driver are
wearing: opt for longer, gently layered locks with a splash of
highlighting to accentuate the cut.
During pregnancy many women suffer from swelling of the face,
a few face framing highlights placed strategically throughout
your hair with a deeper base color gives a slimming illusion.
If you crave fun bouncy locks
like Tori Spelling, (a great choice for fine hair) a below the
chin, layered bob with tons of texture will do the trick. To style
spritz dry hair with a styling heat spray and curl the ends of
your hair, apply pomade and shake out.
Who doesnt love Nicole Kidmans
curls??? To manage such curly locks always condition your hair
well, never vigorously towel dry or brush/comb wet hair. Simply
apply plenty of serum and curling cream, and comb with your fingers,
a spritz of spray will seal the look.
One of my favorite looks is Heidi
Klum, with her fun and versatile layered haircut. This cut is
great on almost everyone, bangs are flexible and youthful and
multi-dimensional foil highlighting ads a great finish to all

Take the Guess Work out of buying
Professional Salon Products
Welcome to the launch of the greatest
hair care product line especially for women! I created the Maternity
Salon product line with my 23 years of professional salon experience
as a salon owner, stylist, master colorist educator and Mom. I have
had exposure to all the avenues of creating the perfect hair cut,
style, and styling tools. The most important tool to support any
great cut or color is your styling products.
The right professional products make
a world of difference, ever wonder why your hair usually looks
and feels its best upon leaving the salon, but then never looks
that way when you style it at home?
Well, here is your simple, easy to
use answer for all women at any stage of your life. Here are some
simple tips; I give my clients for achieving perfectly styled
professional hair using Maternity Salon Hair Care Products.
If you have fine/limp hair and need some body and fullness use
Luscious Locks Shampoo and Quick Fix Conditioner, towel dry your
hair and apply small amount of Volumizing Mousse (massage into
the roots), blow dry your hair and mist with Work and Play Spray,
for a splash of shine massage a drop of Silk Nectar into your
hands and work through ends for a professional shine.
If you have normal type hair with no specific needs you can shampoo
with Luscious Locks Shampoo and condition with Quick Fix conditioner,
if youd like some volume and fullness, use Volumizing Mousse
and Style Straight for shine and control, Silk Nectar is great
to finish and seal your style, spritz Spray and Play Spray to
If you have Dry/Color-treated/coarse hair and need some immediate
shine and luster use Heavenly Shampoo and Moisture Blast Conditioner,
once a week a 10 minute treatment with Quick Fix Conditioner covering
your hair in a plastic cap (this helps the body heat stimulate
more penetration of the treatment). To style apply a small amount
of Style Straight and a drop of Silk Nectar mixed together for
the perfect moisture cocktail, ensuring your hair will be shiny
and manageable. This combo is great for blow drying straight or
an air dry curly look.
If you have curly or wavy hair you need to use Heavenly Shampoo
and Moisture Blast Conditioner for moisture and control. To style
apply a small amount of curly crème and a drop of Silk
Nectar mix in the palm of your hand and apply generously, if youd
like a little more hold spritz your hair while damp with Work
and Play Spray and scrunch.
If you have excessively curly/unruly hair use Heavenly Shampoo
and Moisture Blast Conditioner. To style your hair mix a dollop
of style straight, a small amount of curly crème, and a
drop of Silk Nectar, work through and style.
Silk Nectar is a versatile hair polish
that can be intermixed with all our products for added shine and
luster with no frizz.
This is the advice I would give my

If youre expecting, Im
sure you have a lot on your plate as far as getting ready for the
maternity journey and preparing for baby. With all the new changes
and adjustments; sometimes Taking Care of You takes
a back seat.
To help you start Taking Care
of You, you have to evaluate your daily activities. Well,
now you ask, What have I done for myself lately? Ladies,
this is an important question. It turns out many of us are so
caught up with taking care of everyone else that we forget to
do the little things for ourselves. Beginning something new and
fresh for you is always exciting but requires some effort.
If you want to look and feel better
while preparing for a new addition to your family, lets
start with getting you on the right track with your beauty regiment.
Lets start with your hair: Taking
care of your hair, makes a world of difference on how you feel
and perceive yourself. If you put your hair up everyday with a
scrunchy or clip you really need to STOP. This tragic behavior
usually results in falling into a rut.
So, I would reiterate my usual advice
on making an appointment with a stylist. If you dont have
one, ask around and see which salon or stylist falls into your
budget. Remember, you dont have to go to a poshy salon or
spend a fortune. There are options and some really talented stylists
out there. So, a cute hair cut and some natural looking hi-lites
will make you look and feel better. This can easily translate
to your Mommy Makeover. Buy new products for your
hair, MaternitySalon offers a complete hair care line especially
for moms. Check it out!
Moving onto your skin care, Ive
come across a lot of great products lately for skin. One great
facial cleanser you should use to get rid of makeup at night or
morning is called, St. Ives. Facial Cleanser. Getting
into a routine with washing your face before bed and when you
wake really helps your pores to stay clean and refreshed. After
you wash your face, I suggest using a face cream by Neutrogena,
Oil of Olay, or Dove look for your specific skin type and
use that product.
Should old habits be forgot, and
never brought to mind? Sounds like a plan to a great new year and
your new life with your new baby. This time of year brings to mind
many stories of renewal, especially in the salon industry. New cuts,
new color, new styles the changes are endless and such a simple
boost to the soul. Looking good makes a world of difference when
you are pregnant, your body is changing dramatically and your hormones
can make you feel out of sorts.
Hair Styles, Hair Color,
Happy New Year!!
My favorite New Year pick me up is
a new cut and color. A simple change can make a huge difference.
The greatest feeling is when you look good, I can recall the influx
of clients who have just had it with their look and the winter
blues, I always recommend you update or tweek change
is having a glaze (gloss) added to your color or some new fresh
hi-lites. Not to mention the fun you can have with some clip-on
hair extensions, they are easily accessible and come in all colors
and textures. Clip-ons are fun, fast and easy anyone can throw
them in their hair for fun.
Heres a great idea to enhance
your look and make you feel refreshed, I recommend a visit to
your local sun-less tanning salon. A sun-less spray tan is the
way to go, it takes only a few seconds, is usually made of a vegetable
based mist and will slowly fade in a few days and no UV exposure,
what fun! To compliment your new tan, pick up a mineral based
bronzer and a fluffy make-up brush, dust over your face and you
got the glow!
there is nothing more important than
taking care of yourself ...

"How to Find a Maternity Friendly Salon."
|Twenty some years in the beauty industry
as a top salon owner, stylist and mom has taught me a lot.
When you're pregnant you not only deserve the best, you should
demand the best. Sometimes going or finding a salon can be
very intimidating....Here are some important guidelines on
helping you to find a great salon that can meet your needs.
How a salon answers its phone says a lot about
them. (rude or nice, go with your gut..)
understanding are they to your needs, are they listening to
what you're saying...?
Do they offer a free initial consultation with the stylist
that will be doing your hair..?

the salon inviting and qualified...?
Simply look at who's walked out, how do they look?
the stylists are professional and well groomed.
